Danza Acitlamichitli (A small group for children, youth, and adults wanting to pray and worship through dance)

Acitlamichitli, a Nahuatl name that translates to “Star of the Sea”, is the title given in honor of our heavenly mother The Virgin Mary by the Holy Souls in Purgatory (according to the vision St. Faustina Kowalska describes in her diary), and to whom we look towards for guidance and protection through the invocation of Our Lady of Carmel. 

The mission of this small group is to offer prayers and dances in honor to Our Lady of Carmel to intercede on the behalf of the Holy Souls in purgatory. We worship, praise and offer thanksgiving to God for the blessings we have received through our dances which serve as representations of His creation.

We meet weekly on Mondays to practice outside and pray for the Holy Souls in purgatory in between dance sets. Bring your energy, workout clothes, water, willingness to learn and favorite prayer! Acitlamichitli, nombre Náhuatl que significa “Estrella del Mar”, es el título dado en honor a nuestra Madre del Cielo la Virgen María por las ánimas benditas del purgatorio (según la visión de Santa Faustina Kowalska relatado en su diario), y a quien nos encomendamos bajo su protección por medio de la advocación de la Virgen del Carmen.

La misión de este grupo pequeño es ofrecer oraciones y danzas en su honor como sufragio a favor de las almas del purgatorio. Alabar, bendecir y agradecer a Dios por todas sus bendiciones y favores recibidos ya que nuestras danzas son representaciones de su creación.

Nos reunimos los lunes para practicar al aire libre y orar para las ánimas benditas del purgatorio entre sets de danzas. ¡Trae tu energía, ropa para hacer ejercicio, agua, disponibilidad para aprender y tu oración favorita!
