Christian Initiation (CI) is not so much a program as a process. Through the process, adults discern God's call to enter the Catholic Church and are helped along in this process by many Catholics in our parish. CI sessions are held two Sundays a month, 3-4:30pm. Are you willing to live out your baptismal call and join those seeking to be initiated into the Catholic Church by assisting them in the process and walking with them along the journey?
Become a Sponsor: The role of the sponsor is not to answer all the questions about the Catholic Church. Rather, the sponsor acts as a mentor in faith and will journey with those in CI. A sponsor participates in the rites, accompanies their candidate to as many classes as possible, and attends the CI retreat.
Become an CI Team Member: CI team members work with the director and other team members in helping accompany and catechize those who are in the CI process. A CI team member feels a call to minister in evangelization and education of new members of our faith, and is able to make some time commitment to the process.
Join us in prayer: If you are unable to commit as a sponsor or CI team member, please keep those in the CI process in your personal prayers.
Sponsors and CI team members must be practicing Catholics (meaning Catholics who follow the Church’s teachings, participate in Sunday Mass, have an active prayer life, and aim to prioritize God and faith in their lives).
