1. Middle School: 6th-8th Grade

Middle School Youth Group is named "EDGE". The Edge program is part of the Life Teen model of ministry and is designed to offer truly Catholic faith education that doesn't feel like a "classroom". We recognize that middle schoolers are on the edge of being a kid and being a teen, and so that EDGE is where the Holy Spirit wants to meet them. It's where faith and friendships meet, where we can have a blast while reading the Bible, where we can play AND pray- and in that play, grow in love for our parish, our peers, and the Person of Jesus Christ. 

• EDGE meets most Sundays from 3:45-4:45 in the Youth Room
• All 6th-8th grade students are invited to register
• EDGE Sessions use a combination of large group gatherings and smaller Discipleship group sessions to give teens a place where they can feel welcome and come alive in their faith
• We also offer day retreats, service programs, and other social events throughout the year

  • The idea for this program is to provide a consistent event that is less structured than Sunday EDGE meetings. It will primarily be a chance for teens to come and socialize, relax, snack, and play some games. We'll end the night with a Bible study. If you're not sure if EDGE is for you, or if you have a friend who's just interested in getting to spend some time with some good friends in a safe and fun setting, then this is the perfect place to start.
  • You do not need to sign up for this separately- it's part of your Youth Ministry registration

2. High School: 9th-12th Grade: If your teen is seeking to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation please read the +Confirmation Track section below carefully before completing this registration.

High School Youth Group is named "LIFE TEEN". The Life Teen program is designed to be a community of faith, where high school teens can find true identity in the light of the Catholic faith, in a non-judgmental and supportive environment. The program aims to provide fun elements to build community, challenging activities to build character, and moments with the Sacraments, prayer, praise and worship to build up faith. There are a lot of things in life wanting us to spend our time on- but only one of those things has made you, loves you, fought for you, died for you, ROSE FOR YOU TO GIVE YOU THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE, and invites you to know Him fully through His Church and the Sacraments He instituted. Jesus wants to spend time with you. Are you willing to take the chance and spend a few hours with Him each week?

• Life Teen meets most Sundays from 6:15-8:00PM (after the 5PM Mass) for a meal and our session, rotating between large group "Life Nights" and small group based "Discipleship Nights". We will also offer retreats, lock-ins, service programs and other fun and faith based events throughout the year.
• NEW- WEDNESDAY Night High School Bible Study from 6:30-8:30PM
  • The idea for this program is to provide a consistent event that is less structured than Sunday Life Nights. It will primarily be a chance for teens to come and socialize, relax, snack, and play some games. We'll end the night with a Bible study. If you're not sure if Life Teen is for you, or if you have a friend who's just interested in getting to spend some time with some good friends in a safe and fun setting, then this is the perfect place to start.
  • You do not need to sign up for this separately- it's part of your Life Teen registration

• The +Confirmation track meets as part of Life Teen, and as such does not have a separate schedule. 
• Please enroll teens in Confirmation using the High School Life Teen Option, and you will be able to indicate your choice to begin Confirmation preparation at that time.
• As per the Archdiocese of Atlanta, a teen is eligible to enroll in formation as a Candidate for Confirmation if they meet the following requirements:
  1. Teens may enroll in Confirmation preparation no sooner than their 10th grade year
  2. To enroll in Confirmation preparation, teens must have participated in High School Faith Formation in the previous year (example- to be confirmed as a 10th grader in the 2025-2026 school year, a teen must have attended Youth Group as a 9th grader in the 2024-2025 school year)
• To register for the +Confirmation Track (the formation track added on to Life Teen for those in their Confirmation preparation year), answer the question within the Life Teen registration that indicates your intention to begin the Confirmation track this year.
  • Please expect a follow-up email in the upcoming weeks confirming your teen's eligibility to begin the Confirmation track once it has been reviewed.
  • If your teen's has completed faith formation at another parish last year, please request attendance documentation from that parish, and submit those records to us via email.
• More information about timelines, attendance expectations, retreats will be communicated when we follow up with you.

4. Volunteer in Youth Ministry: Become a CORE Member

“Modern man listens more willingly to witnesses than to teachers, and if he does listen to teachers, it is because they are witnesses.” Pope Paul VI, Evangelii Nuntiandi, no. 41

Teenagers are seekers on a journey- they are looking for community, consistency, honesty, personal connection, and a place of their own. This is what our Youth Ministry program is all about- and it takes many faith-filled, fun-loving, patient and persistent adults to provide that space here at Prince of Peace. If we hope that our youth will anchor themselves to the Catholic faith during the storms of life, it is our job to guide their anchor until it finds a place to hold fast to the truth- the truth that God loves them, that the Church is here for them, and that there is always a place for them at the table of the Lord. Our Youth Ministry programs cannot happen without your help. Please consider joining our CORE Team- the heart of our Youth Ministry programs!

Weekly Youth Ministry Program Schedule:

• EDGE (Middle School Program)
  • Sundays, 3:45-4:45PM - Main EDGE Program
  • Wednesdays, 5:00-6:10PM- EDGE Bible Study*
• Life Teen (High School +Confirmation Program)
  • Sundays, 6:15-8:00PM - Main Life Teen Program
  • Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30PM- Life Teen Bible Study*
• NOTE- Sunday vs. Wednesday: 
  • CORE members are only asked to commit to EITHER the Sunday OR Wednesday sessions. 
    • The Sunday EDGE and Life Teen Programs are the priority as that's our biggest need (over 60 middle schoolers and nearly 150 High Schoolers). 
    • You MAY choose to attend both Sunday and Wednesday sessions, but it is not required for you to commit to both days of the week- however we do need a few who can also regularly commit to Wednesdays- for some, this might be the only day of the week you have available, etc.
  • Please communicate with JP Williams on which days you can best commit to. Thanks!

CORE Team Roles:

All of our Youth Ministry Volunteers are known as CORE Members, and then divided into the following teams: Complimentary childcare is provided during all sessions!

• Small Group Mentors (leaders for Middle School, High School, or Confirmation small groups)
• Substitute Mentors (for those who cannot commit every week, but are willing to be on-call)
• Hospitality Teams (for those who want to serve the program in non-teaching roles)
  • Welcome Team (Greeting Teens, Registration, Hall Monitoring and Safety)
  • Kitchen Crew (Preparing meals for 100+ hungry people each week)
  • Media Teams: (Art & Environment projects, Audio/Visual, Praise & Worship, Media & Photography)
  • Floaters (Willing to help and fill-in with various tasks as needed.)

If you feel called to serve in this important ministry, please register for the slot or slots you'd prefer, and JP Williams will reach out to you shortly to help you narrow down which role you'd like to fill. Important Information for all POP Volunteers:

• You must be VIRTUS safe environment trained and background checked to volunteer. 
• All adult volunteers must be at least 5 years older than the oldest youth in whichever group they serve, as per the Archdiocese of Atlanta Safe Environment Standards of Conduct
  • Minimum age of 21 to Volunteer for Middle School
  • Minimum age of 23 to Volunteer for High School
• If you have not yet been VIRTUS trained, please contact JP Williams ASAP to arrange a training session.

1. Middle School: 6.º a 8.º grado

2. High School: 9.º a 12.º grado:
Si su hijo adolescente desea recibir el Sacramento de la Confirmación, lea atentamente la sección +Programa de Confirmación a continuación antes de completar esta inscripción.

• Life Teen se reúne la mayoría de los domingos de 6:15 a 8:00 pm. 3. Programa de Confirmación:

• El programa de Confirmación se reúne como parte de Life Teen y, como tal, no tiene un horario separado.
• Inscriba a los adolescentes en la Confirmación utilizando la Opción para Adolescentes de High School Life y podrá indicar su elección para comenzar la preparación para la Confirmación en ese momento.
• Según la Arquidiócesis de Atlanta, un adolescente es elegible para inscribirse en formación como Candidato para la Confirmación si cumple con los siguientes requisitos:
  • 1. Los adolescentes pueden inscribirse en la preparación para la Confirmación no antes del décimo grado.
  • 2. Para inscribirse en la preparación para la Confirmación, los adolescentes deben haber participado en la Formación de Fe en la High School durante el año anterior (por ejemplo, para ser confirmado como estudiante de décimo grado en el año escolar 2025-2026, un adolescente debió haber asistido al Grupo de Jóvenes como estudiante de noveno grado en el año escolar 2024-2025).
